about

my first collaboration with italy's drone artist 'opium'. the concept behind the songs(and track titles) is one of drug usage in industrial society. production wise, teo initially produced the drones, sent them to me and i created free-form percussive structures for them. i then composed the drones/beats together and coined the song titles. the sound of this project didn't quite fit into the usual offthesky sound at the time, which is why i chose to use my producer name "jason corder"(typically associated with my beat oriented projects, at least until the creation of the juxta phona project in 2008). this album is also one of my early experiments with randomly (or generative) created percussion. i also created the cover artwork for the album and dennis, who runs databloem, created the layout/text artwork. the album was initially released on holland's 'databloem' sublabel 'practicing nature' in 2006.

note: although you can purchase each track individually, the songs were made to be played one immediately after the next(connected). please consider purchasing them all and listening to them back to back the way the good lord intended.
